What Weights of Cotton Do We Carry?

Do you know the difference between different weaves and weights of woven cotton fabric? At Valley Fabrics we carry several weaves and weights of cotton and cotton/linen fabrics.
Canvas: The heaviest cotton or cotton/linen blend fabric that we stock is canvas. Canvas is thicker and stiffer than quilting cotton, making it suitable for bags, totes, and garments where drape isn’t needed, such as trucker jackets or a-line skirts.
Quilting cotton: Quilting cotton is a mid-weight 100% cotton fabric. It’s great for quilting, curtains, and garments where drape isn’t a core part of the design, such as shirts and skirts.
Poplin: Poplin is more tightly woven than quilting cotton and a tad lighter in weight. It’s a little drapier than quilting cotton, making it great for quilting or garments such as dresses, shirts, or skirts.
Lawn: Lawn is lighter than poplin. Airy, luxurious, and soft, lawn is great for skirts, shirts, dresses, and tops.
